Back to School Blessing and Sunday School Kickoff

    Message: Tradition!

Scripture: Song of Solomon 2:8-13; Mark 7:1-20

    Fifth Sunday Offering

    Pastor’s Midweek Thoughts:

What traditions do you hold dear?  Do you hope you can create them year after year with the same fervor that may initially have started the tradition?  Or have you had to start a new tradition?

Whatever your tradition might be it is always hard to change them.  Even more importantly it can be difficult if someone else challenges or changes the tradition you hold dear.

Change is hard and yet Jesus is doing just that.  He challenges the traditions of his day to create a new order.  He challenges the traditions of his day to allow God to breathe life into new things.

Take a moment this week to see where God is changing things and breathing new life into traditions that your family, your friends, or our community may hold dear.  Who knows what God has in store for you, for me, and for us.
