Rev. Rachel Helgeson will be leading our worship service Sunday.
“Fumbly Bumbly Angel” Youth Christmas Pageant
Scripture: Psalm 89:1-4, Isaiah 61:8-11, Luke 1:46b-55
As the youth of First Presbyterian Church of Mount Vernon have been preparing the Christmas Pageant for this Sunday I was struck by their enthusiasm and creativity. But mostly I was struck by the message. It was a group of “Fumbly Bumbly Angels” who helped bring the message that Jesus was born and was and is the Savior of the world.
So many times we get caught up in making sure that all the t’s are crossed and all the i’s are dotted. But we forget that we are not called to be perfect people. We are called to fully be the children of God Christ has called and created us to be. We can be fumbly bumbly messengers of Christ’s message to the world.
During this Advent season look to see where you can bring the joy of Christ’s message to the world. For we are all entertaining angels unknown to us.

Christmas Baskets: Friends the Christmas baskets are back on. The Register News ran an article on Friday and people from the community felt compelled to step in financially to make it happen. With that said volunteers are needed again for December 20th here’s what’s needed:
Deliveries begin at 7:30 a.m. Delivery drivers are asked to gather at the Roland Lewis Building at Veteran’s Park, in Mt. Vernon.
· Bring your driver’s license.
· Prepare your vehicles so that you will be able to carry six or more large boxes of food.
· Recruit as many helpers as you can to bring Jesus’ love, blessing, and abundance to our neighbors throughout Jefferson County.
· Practice saying “Merry Christmas” with Christ’s love in your heart.
Driver’s will be asked to deliver food boxes to six or eight households! If you can do more that morning, it’s very much appreciated.
The Giving Tree: The youth are collecting items donated to Lifeboat and
Kemmerer Village. Please take a tag from the giving tree in the church. Bring
back the unwrapped tagged item and place it under the tree. The youth will
hand deliver the Lifeboat items and send the Kemmerer Village items.
