  • Midweek Thoughts

Message: Extra! Extra! Read all about it: David’s Scandal

    Scripture: Ephesians 3:14-21 and 2 Samuel 11:1-15

    Pastor’s Midweek Thoughts:

What is your favorite tv show?  Does it have intrigue and scandal involved?  If any of this strikes your fancy you should tune into this week’s scripture text about David.  Some of you may know it as the Bathsheba scandal but truthfully the narrator points their fingers at David.

While it may be surprising that this scandal is in the bible, I would encourage you to take heart.  David is part of the story, scandals and all.  God is able to use David in the grand scheme of things, even despite David.

You may not have a scandal on your hand, even if you enjoy watching it on tv, but we all have our faults.  We all have our failings.  If God is able to use David and his scandal as part of the story, God can use anything you have to throw out there too.
