Rev. Rachel Helgeson will be leading our worship service Sunday.

Scripture: Psalm 111 and Mark 1:21-28

Message: “A Man. A Plan. A Teaching.”

MIDWEEK THOUGHTS:

Sometimes our worst critics are the ones who see our vulnerabilities the clearest.

These folks may even recognize us at our very core being.  This week’s text focuses on a man with an unclean spirit.  He is the one who recognizes Jesus for who he really is.  It threatens him. It makes him uncomfortable but in a world where others were being silent about who Jesus was, this man loudly protested.

Have you ever experienced this?  If you have it can be really uncomfortable when someone says aloud, I know who you are.  I know what you are about.

As you consider your walk in faith this week, consider who you are as a person of faith.  Consider whom others see you as, more than just a parent, guardian, friend, child, neighbor, classmate, workmate, etc.

Who are you really?  Are you follower of Christ?  Are you able to be vulnerable and recognize that you are a child of God? Are you able to hear the still small of voice of the Holy Spirit moving in your life? You might be surprised by who you see through the eyes of another, through the eyes of faith.
